All Studio sections
Where: Studio Every Studio section. Studio opens on Apps. Get there: Click Studio in the left rail, or use Cmd/Ctrl+K and type Studio.- Wiki: /studio/wiki. Shared context for the workspace, its channels and its members.
- Agents: not offered; /studio/agents redirects to Settings > Members.
- Apps: /studio/apps. Connect the tools your workspace and agents use.
- API & Webhooks: /studio/api. Keys for your tools and agents, and webhooks that send Ando events to your services.
- Scripts: /studio/scripts. Code your automations run on a schedule, without an agent turn.
Left rail (main navigation)
Where: Left rail The far-left column: workspace switcher, Chat, Inbox, Search (web), Studio, Actions (web), invite, Help center, Settings gear and your avatar. In the app: Chat, Inbox, Search, Studio, Actions menu, Invite people or agents, Refer a friend, Send feedback, Keyboard shortcuts, Docs, Settings- The Settings gear opens General for admins, Members for members and Profile for guests; your avatar opens Profile.
- The desktop app hides Search and Actions in the rail; use the search field in its top bar or Cmd/Ctrl+K.

Workspace menu and switching workspaces
Where: Left rail → Workspace icon Workspace icon menu: switch, join or create workspaces, accept invites, theme and log out. In the app: Account settings, Invite & manage members, Switch workspace, My workspaces, Join a workspace via URL, Create new workspace, Desktop app, Mobile app, Log out- Switch workspace: Workspace icon > Switch workspace > pick one; drag the grip handle to reorder.
- Join another workspace: Switch workspace > Join a workspace via URL (opens /join-workspace).
- Create a workspace: Switch workspace > Create new workspace (opens /create-workspace).
- Change theme: the Theme row offers light, dark or match system; Settings > Profile > Appearance offers Warm light, Warm dark or Auto.
Command center (Cmd/Ctrl+K)
Where: Anywhere → Cmd/Ctrl+K Palette for jumping to people, agents, channels and settings and for quick actions. Tabs: All, Channels, People, Groups, Agents. Get there: Press Cmd/Ctrl+K (inside the composer that shortcut adds a link instead). Or: Click Actions in the left rail (web) or the search field in the desktop top bar. In the app: Type a command or search…, Quick actions, Recent conversations- Open a DM: type a name under People and pick it; pick yourself for notes to self.
- Jump to a channel: type its name under Channels; unjoined public channels appear too.
- Quick actions include Search, Create new channel, New message, Invite people or agents, Set app theme, Studio sections, Settings and Keyboard shortcuts.
- In a conversation the first section has its actions: Add members, Start a jam, Add to favorites or Remove from favorites.
- Typing a query adds Search for ”…” and, where enabled, Ask AI about ”…”.

Conversations sidebar, folders and Favorites
Where: Chat → Sidebar → Conversations tab One sorted list of folders (including Favorites), Bridges, Your drafts and Browse or create. There are no fixed Channels/DMs/Agents sections. In the app: Conversations, Threads, Sort by, Recent activity, Manual, Last 7 days, All time, Create, Message, Channel, Agent, Folder, Rename folder, Change icon, Delete folder, Your drafts- Create a folder: Create (+) > Folder, or right-click empty sidebar space > New Folder.
- Put a conversation in a folder: drag it in, or right-click the row > Add to folder.
- Favorite a conversation: Cmd/Ctrl+K in that conversation > Add to favorites; Favorites is a sidebar folder.
- Reorder inside a folder only when its sort is Manual; Shift+Up/Down moves the focused row.
- Conversations quiet longer than the Show window collapse into a Show N inactive conversations row.

Desktop app (Mac and Windows)
Where: Ando Desktop Adds a top bar (Back, Forward, Recently viewed, search), native notifications, a dock badge, ando:// links and background updates. In the app: A desktop update is ready., Restart Desktop, Desktop update required- Updates download in the background; Restart Desktop installs them. Homebrew installs update through Homebrew.
- On macOS, closing the window hides Ando instead of quitting.
- Links like ando://<path> open that page in the desktop app.

Sign in, create a workspace and onboarding

Signing in, creating or joining a workspace, and the first-run onboarding steps (Slack, invite, profile, agent, apps).

Conversations
Conversation row menu (sidebar right-click)
Where: Chat → Sidebar → Conversation row → Right-click or … Per-conversation actions from the sidebar: folders, notifications, members, hide, archive and leave. Get there: Right-click a conversation in the sidebar, or hover it and click its … button. In the app: Open in new tab, Add to folder, Move to folder, Remove from folder, View members, Add members, Hide from sidebar, Show in sidebar, Archive channel, Unarchive channel, Leave channel, Leave group- Mute or change notifications: Notifications > All new messages, Just mentions or Mute (DMs: All messages or Mute); Edit default settings opens Settings > Notifications.
- Rename an agent you manage from its DM row: Rename agent.
- Bridge channels can be renamed for your workspace only: Rename / Use original name.
Threads sidebar tab
Where: Chat → Sidebar → Threads tab Lists threads you follow (or all threads) in Pinned and Recents sections. In the app: Only followed threads, All threads, Rename thread, Pin thread, Unpin thread, Follow thread, Unfollow thread, Copy link- You follow a thread automatically when you start it, reply to it or are mentioned in it.
- Pin a thread: drag it onto Pinned or right-click it > Pin thread.
Message yourself (notes to self)
Where: Cmd/Ctrl+K → People → Your name A one-person DM for notes, drafts and links. Get there: Press Cmd/Ctrl+K, type your name under People and pick it. Or: Create (+) > Message, pick the row marked (you), then Create message. In the app: Create messageStart a DM or group DM
Where: Sidebar → Create → Message Pick one or more people or agents to open a DM or group DM. Get there: Press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+K. Or: Sidebar Create (+) > Message, or Cmd/Ctrl+K > New message. In the app: New message, Create message- DM an agent: Cmd/Ctrl+K > Agents > pick it, or Message on its profile.
- Guests can only message people they share a conversation with, one person at a time in the web picker.

Create a channel
Where: Sidebar → Create → Channel Who can use it: members who can create channels. Name the channel, pick Public or Private, optionally bridge it to another workspace, then add people and agents. Get there: Press Cmd/Ctrl+Option/Alt+K. Or: Sidebar Create (+) > Channel, Browse or create > Create channel, or Cmd/Ctrl+K > Create new channel. In the app: Channel name, Visibility, Public, Private, Bridge to another workspace, Create channel- After creating, the Add to #channel step offers Add people, Add agents or Send invites, or Skip for now.
- Bridge to another workspace invites collaborators from another Ando workspace by email.

Browse and join channels
Where: Sidebar → Browse or create → Browse channels Find public channels, see which you’ve joined, and join them. Get there: Sidebar Browse or create > Browse channels. Or: Cmd/Ctrl+K > Channels tab also lists public channels you haven’t joined. In the app: Browse and join conversations, Join, JoinedConversation view and header
Where: Chat → Conversation ·/{workspace}/{conversationId} or /{workspace}/c/{channel-name}
An open channel or DM. The header has the title, documents, automations chip, members button and Jam button.
In the app: Start Jam, Join Jam, Open conversation documents, Documents
- Open channel details: click the title or the members button.
- In a 1:1 DM, clicking the title opens the person’s or agent’s profile.
- Pinned messages show as a banner at the top; open it to jump to or unpin them.
- Find in this conversation with Cmd/Ctrl+F; Enter goes to older matches, Shift+Enter to newer.
- Archived channels are read-only and show Unarchive channel.
- Hide the working row agents show under messages with Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+E; their typing indicator still shows.

Channel details, members and channel settings
Where: Conversation → Header → Members button Side panel with Members, Attachments and Automations tabs, notifications, and Settings for name, description, visibility, archive and leave. In the app: Members, Attachments, Automations, Add members, Remove member, Channel settings, Channel name, Channel description, Change to public, Change to private, Archive channel, Leave channel, Save changes- Add people or agents: Members tab > Add members.
- Remove someone: hover them in Members > actions > Remove member. Admins can in any conversation they’re in; any member can in public channels and group DMs; never in archived ones.
- Rename or describe a channel: Settings > Channel name / Channel description > Save changes. In Bridge channels this renames it for your workspace only.
- Only admins and owners can change public/private; others may see the button but the change fails.
Thread panel
Where: Message → Reply in thread Replies to one message, opened beside the conversation. Get there: Hover a message > Reply in thread, click its reply count, or press T on a focused message. Or: Sidebar Threads tab. In the app: Close thread, Copy link to thread, Thread actions, Turn on notifications, Turn off notifications, Open in new window- Follow or unfollow: Thread actions > Turn on notifications / Turn off notifications.
- Tick Also send to <conversation> under the thread composer to post the reply in the main conversation too.
Inbox
Where: Left rail → Inbox ·/{workspace}/inbox
Mentions, DMs, thread replies and reactions that need you, with All and Unread tabs and filters.
Get there: Click Inbox in the left rail or press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+A.
In the app: All, Unread, Mentions, Thread Replies, Reactions, Archive, Mark all as read
- Archive an item to clear it; filters include Needs you, From humans, From agents and Archived only.
- Mark all as read is disabled while filters are active.

Search

Search messages, people, channels, files and call transcripts, with From, In, Date and Type filters and an AI answer from journals and the wiki where enabled.
Get there: Web: Search in the left rail or Cmd/Ctrl+K > Search. Or: Desktop app: the top-bar search field or Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+F.
In the app: Most relevant, Newest first, Threads only, File content
- The bare / key no longer opens search.
File and document links
Where: Conversation → Attachments or link ·/{workspace}/files/{fileId}, /{workspace}/docs/{documentId}
Permalinks that preview and download a shared file, or open a conversation document.
Get there: Open a file link, or Channel details > Attachments.
In the app: Download
- Document links require the workspace to have documents enabled.

Messages
Message composer
Where: Conversation → Composer Where you write messages. Buttons: Attach file, Text formatting, Add emoji, Add GIF and (with text selected) Add link. In the app: Attach file, Text formatting, Add emoji, Add GIF- Markdown works for bold, italic, strikethrough, code, code blocks, quotes, lists and links. Headings are not supported.
- @ mentions people, agents and member groups; @here and @agents work in channels and group DMs.
- / opens the workspace’s Skills (there are no built-in slash commands); # links a channel; : autocompletes emoji.
- Attach up to 10 files per message, up to 1 GB each, by button, drag and drop or paste. Executables are blocked.
- Messages that are too long can be sent as a text snippet.
- Mentioning someone who isn’t in the conversation shows a private prompt offering Add them.

Schedule a message
Where: Composer → Send button caret Send a message later from the caret beside the send button. In the app: Schedule message, Custom time, Edit message, Reschedule, Delete- Quick picks offer later today or tomorrow morning; Custom time opens a date and time picker.
- Queued messages show a Scheduled for … pill above the composer; View lists them with Edit message, Reschedule and Delete.
Message actions (hover toolbar and right-click)
Where: Conversation → Message → Hover or right-click Actions on one message: react, reply in thread, forward, edit, copy, pin, mark unread and delete. Get there: Hover a message for the toolbar; More actions or right-click opens the full menu. In the app: Add reaction, Reply in thread, Forward, Edit message, Select message, More actions, Copy link, Copy as markdown, Copy as JSON, Mark unread, Pin message, Unpin message, Delete message, File as bug- You can edit and delete your own messages; members with write access can delete their workspace agents’ messages.
- Select text in a message for Quote or Forward to agent.
- Select message adds it to a selection you can hand to an agent.
- There is no save/bookmark or remind-me action; pin the message or ask an agent for a reminder instead.

Working together
Jams (calls, video and screen share)
Where: Conversation → Header → Jam Voice and video calls inside a conversation, with screen sharing, live transcript and recording options. Get there: Click Start Jam in the conversation header, or press Option/Alt+Shift+J. In the app: Full recording, Live transcription only, No recording, Share screen, Start video, End call- Choose recording before you start, in Open Jam settings.
- Deleting a Jam message deletes its transcript and video and is only possible after the call ends.

Invite people, guests or agents to the workspace
Where: Left rail → Invite people or agents Who can use it: full members; inviting guests needs guest-management rights. Invite members or guests by email, optionally adding them to channels, or create an agent invite link. Get there: Press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+I. Or: Left rail invite button, Cmd/Ctrl+K > Invite people or agents, or (admins) Settings > Members > Invite. In the app: Invite emails, Add to channels, Send invites- Invite as Members or Guests; guests get an end date and access only to chosen channels.
- Switch the audience to Agent to get a link for an external agent.

Studio > Wiki and Dictionary
Where: Studio → Wiki ·/{workspace}/studio/wiki
Who can use it: workspaces with the Wiki enabled; not guests.
Shared context agents use: pages for the workspace, channels and members, plus the Dictionary of workspace terms. Where the Wiki is off, the Dictionary is in Settings.
In the app: Search wiki, New page, Import file, Save page, Dictionary
- Add a dictionary term by telling an agent the fact; retire entries from the Dictionary.
Agents
Create an agent
Where: Settings → Members → Agents → Create agent Create an Ando Cloud Agent (hosted by Ando) or add an external agent you run yourself. Get there: Settings > Members > Agents tab > Create agent. In the app: Create agent, Display name, Agent type, Ando Cloud Agent, Who can this agent respond to?, Only me, Model, Instructions, Finish- Personal vs shared: Who can this agent respond to? > Everyone or Only me. There is no separate visibility setting.
- Choosing an external harness creates the agent and shows a single-use link to send to it.
- Shortcut: sidebar Create (+) > Agent creates a Cloud Agent at once and opens its DM, where a setup card finishes setup.
- Next: give it apps (Connectors), channels (Channel access) and automations.
Agent editor (configure an agent)
Where: Settings → Members → Agents → Agent row → Edit in Studio ·/{workspace}/settings/members?agentMemberId={id}
Who can use it: people allowed to edit the agent; personal agents only by their creator.
Behavior (who it answers, model, instructions), Connectors, Channel access, Notifications and API keys.
Get there: Settings > Members > Agents > the agent’s row menu > Edit in Studio.
In the app: Behavior, Connectors, Add connector, Channel access, Add channels, Proactivity level, Notifications, API keys
- Give an agent an app: Connectors > Add connector, pick the connection and enable it. Personal connections can be limited to Only when I ask or opened to Anyone who asks.
- Let an agent read and reply in channels: Channel access > Add channels, then set each channel’s Proactivity level (Mentions, Low, Medium, High).
- Choose what wakes it: Notifications > Mentions + DMs, Mentions only, All messages or Off.
- Archive is reversible; Delete is permanent.
Agent profile panel
Where: Click any agent Quick view of an agent with About, Apps, Automations and Context tabs and a Message button. Get there: Click an agent’s name or avatar anywhere, or the title of its DM. In the app: About, Apps, Automations, Context, Message- DM the agent: Message.
- Change how proactive it is in the current channel from About.
Connect an external agent (Claude, Codex, OpenClaw and others)
Where: Settings → Members → Agents → Invite external agent Bring an agent you run yourself into the workspace with a single-use invite link, the pairing page or Ando MCP. Get there: Settings > Members > Agents > Invite external agent. Or: Invite people or agents > switch the audience to Agent. In the app: Invite external agent, Copy agent invite link, Create new invite link- Invite links are single-use and expire after 15 minutes; send them only to an agent you trust.
- The pairing page is /{workspace}/pair; CLI sign-ins are approved at /cli-login.
Skills (slash commands)
Where: Composer → / ·/{workspace}/settings/skills
Who can use it: the / picker works in any composer; the Skills page is rollout-gated and has no nav entry.
Workspace skills extend what agents can do; type / in the composer to pick one.
In the app: New skill, Create skill in chat, Write skill instructions, Upload skill
Apps and developer tools
Studio > Apps (connections and custom MCP)
Where: Studio → Apps ·/{workspace}/studio/apps
Connect apps for the workspace or yourself, decide which agents can use each connection, and add custom MCP servers.
Get there: Click Studio in the left rail; it opens on Apps.
In the app: Search apps, Connected apps, All apps, Custom MCP server, Add custom MCP server, Workspace connection, Personal connections
- Workspace connections are shared; personal connections are yours, and you choose which agents may use them.
- Custom MCP: Add custom MCP server > Server URL, authentication (OAuth, API key or No auth) and Availability.
- Inbound webhooks now appear as app-event triggers for automations.
Studio > API & Webhooks
Where: Studio → API & Webhooks ·/{workspace}/studio/api
Who can use it: API keys for any member; webhooks for admins.
Create API keys for tools and agents, and webhooks that send Ando events to your services.

Small apps published into a conversation: install a release, choose its account scope and permissions, and run it. Studio > Scripts
Where: Studio → Scripts ·/{workspace}/studio/scripts
Who can use it: members can view; admins approve and manage.
Code that automations run on a schedule without an agent turn. Agents propose scripts; an admin approves them.
In the app: Approve script, Reject, Run now, Archive script, Add secret
- There is no New script button; ask an agent to write one.
Automations
Where: Agent profile or Channel details → Automations tab Who can use it: full members (not guests); native agents only. Run something on a schedule or when an app sends an event: ask an agent, post a message or run a script. Automations live on an agent’s profile and a channel’s details panel, not in Studio. Get there: Click an agent > Automations tab. Or: Open Channel details > Automations tab, or click the automations chip in the header. In the app: New automation, Describe the schedule, Ask an agent, Send a message, Run a script, Create automation, Run now, Delete automation- Schedules are written in plain language with presets such as Every weekday at 9:00 AM, plus a timezone.
- One-time reminders: ask an agent to remind you; it creates an automation.
Bridges and Slack
Settings > Channels > Bridges (Ando Bridge)
Where: Settings → Workspace → Channels → Bridges ·/{workspace}/settings/ando-bridge
Who can use it: full members; accepting a bridge for an organization needs an owner or admin.
Channels shared with other Ando workspaces, and the bridge invitations you’ve sent.
In the app: Create bridge, Sent invitations, Invite person, Disconnect, Revoke invitation
- Start a bridge: Create bridge, or Create channel with Bridge to another workspace.
- The other side accepts from the invitation link (/bridge/accept) or their inbox.
Settings > Slack sync
Where: Settings → Workspace → Slack sync ·/{workspace}/settings/slack-sync
Who can use it: admins manage sync; members can see it and link their Slack identity.
Keep Slack channels and their history in sync with Ando, including members, custom emoji and apps.

Get there: Settings > Notifications, or a conversation’s Notifications menu > Edit default settings.

- Pause everything: Do not disturb > For 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours or Until tomorrow at 9 AM.

Who can use it: full members; inviting, roles and guests need admin or guest-management rights.

- Change a role: People tab > role menu > Member, Admin or Make owner.
- Remove someone: their row menu > Archive member (Unarchive restores).
- Guest rows offer Edit access, Deactivate guest and Convert to member.
- Agent rows offer Edit in Studio (opens the agent editor here), Copy invite link, Archive and Delete.
