# Linear

> Connect Linear to Ando so agents can search, create, and update issues with the right attribution.

Use the Linear integration when an Ando managed agent needs to search, create, or update Linear issues.

## API key attribution

The Linear token you use controls how Linear attributes the work. A personal Linear API key attributes changes to the person who created the key. For app attribution, create a Linear application token and use that token as the API key in Ando.

## Create a Linear app token

1. Open Linear's [API applications settings](https://linear.app/settings/api/applications).
2. Click **Create application**.
3. Enter a name and details that make the app easy to recognize, such as `Ando`.
4. Open the new application.
5. Under **Developer token**, click **Create & copy token**.
6. Select the **App** option.
7. Store the token somewhere secure. Linear only shows it once.

## Connect Linear in Ando

1. Open Ando.
2. Go to **Settings** -> **Connected Apps**.
3. Select **Linear**.
4. Choose the API key authentication option.
5. Paste the Linear app developer token.
6. Save the connection.
7. Add Linear to any agents that should use it.

After setup, actions taken through this connection are attributed to the Linear app rather than a specific person. Rotate the token in Linear if it is exposed or no longer needed.
